At the start of each month I always evaluate the books that I want to read. I plan them out and I'm so organized about it, and then I tend to go way off list and read entirely different things.
In November, I mostly stuck to my TBR. But I veered off course for a couple books. In general, it was a pretty good month for me at seven books read. Thanksgiving break was basically four days of uninterrupted reading as my husband watched four days of uninterrupted football. It was our ideal time off.
My TBR originally was:
The Obelisk Gate: NK Jemisin
Caliban's War: James Corey
Age of Myth: Michael J Sullivan
Lovelight Farms: BK Borison
Calypso: David Sedaris
A Gathering of Shadows: VE Schwab
And then it turned into...

The Obelisk Gate: NK Jemisin ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five stars! All the awards! I plan on finishing the series in December. This series is so special in its writing style, and keeps you on your toes, but has so many heartbreaking moments you want to be mad at the author. The FMC is so intense and deserves everything in her life.

Age of Myth: Michael J Sullivan ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The more I read it, the more I liked it, but it took me some time to get into it. The banter between Raithe and Malcolm was so good and their friendship keeps getting better and better. I love how weird Suri is and how Persephone somehow keeps them all on track.

Lovelight Farms: BK Borison ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Very sweet romance that was much needed during the start of the holidays. There are two or three more books in this series that I don't think I'll read because I generally am not a fan of holiday romances. This one just jumped out at me at Target so I couldn't leave it behind.

Calypso: David Sedaris ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I read this in one sitting on Thanksgiving! The hype is real, everyone needs to read some Sedaris in their life. I needed some much needed lightheartedness on Thanksgiving and this book delivered. All of his stories center around the summer home he bought in North Carolina and the antics he got up to with his sisters and father.

Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Faeries: Heather Fawcett. ⭐️⭐️ I think I'm the only person who did not like this book, and it made the NYTimes best of 2023 list. Maybe there's something wrong with me. Emily Wilde spend about 300 pages traipsing through a frozen wasteland looking for faeries to study, only for her work nemisis to show up to help. The writing style was just not for me. It felt overly formal and dry.

Iron Flame: Rebecca Yarrows. ⭐️⭐️ I honestly forgot this book was coming out until I got a shipped notification from Amazon. I am so confused, because I don't like the books as I'm reading them, but I know I will continue to read them as they come out.

Two Twisted Crowns: Rachel Gillig. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had preordered this book for an October delivery and I just never got around to it. I like it more than the first book, and I generally recommend this series to someone looking for an easy read romantacy with not too much romance.
